The FrieslandCampina name is a combination of 2 words or names; Friesland and Campina. Friesland is a province in the north of the Netherlands known for its green grasslands, beautiful lakes, blue sky and, most importantly, healthy Friesian cattle. Whilst Campina is a Roman-given name for a beautiful and lush area in the Netherlands and is known for milk-producing farms. In 1871, farmers in the area came together and established a sustainable and quality-driven dairy farming community.
Since our establishment in the 19th century, we grew steadily and currently, we are one of the largest dairy cooperative in the world with more than 18,000 farmers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium and many of whom have been with us since earlier generations. Our ownership is shared amongst over 12,000 holding farmers. And we, now, sell our nutritious products to more than a billion people worldwide.
The FrieslandCampina company is headquartered in Amersfoort, Netherlands and expanded to the Asian market with brands like Foremost, Frisian Flag, Alaska Milk and Dutch Lady. Our renowned expertise and 149-year experience in the dairy industry and our know-how in the production of high-quality dairy products have been passed on to FrieslandCampina Thailand which is the producer of the brand ‘Foremost’ to carry our tradition and produce high-quality and nutritious products for every member of the family in Thailand for over 65 years. Additionally, Foremost is one of the largest raw milk buyers from the Thai dairy cooperative with over 100 million liters of milk bought annually.
149 years ago, the Royal FrieslandCampina was established from the forming of more than 18,000 farmers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium to find and produce highly nutritious dairy-based products for millions of people. We are a global corporation that values our consumers at a local level from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Our farms, factories and products are parts of people's lives in different countries around the world.
In Thailand, Foremost is FrieslandCampina’s flagship brand that has been trusted as a leading high-quality and socially minded brand for more than 65 years. The brand started in 1956 as an ice cream and dairy product producer in Laksi, Bangkok. In 1967, the brand boasted condensed and sweetened condensed milk production capabilities in the Samrong, Bangkok plant, in 1978 the products were exported to the SEA markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Laos. In 1984 and 1993, the brand started selling UHT milk and UHT yoghurt-based drinks respectively. In 1992, the brand sold off its ice cream division to focus on producing more healthy and nutritious dairy products. Today, FrieslandCampina Thailand produce and sell a wide variety of dairy products including UHT milk, pasteurized milk, condensed and sweetened condensed milk and ready-to-drink yoghurt-based drinks.
